14.01  Principles of Microeconomics

Information: 

This introductory undergraduate course covers the fundamentals of microeconomics. Topics include supply and demand, market equilibrium, consumer theory, production and the behavior of firms, monopoly, oligopoly, welfare economics, public goods, and externalities. 14.01 is offered both fall and spring terms.

The course is offered in two alternative formats: (1) MW1 lecture (54-100) and Friday recitation [F11 (5-217), F12 (5-217), F1 (4-265), or F2 (4-265)]; and (2) recitation only [MWF10 (36-153) or MWF11 (36-153)].

There will be two midterm exams on March 7 and April 9, each held at 7:30-9:30 p.m. in Walker Memorial (50-340). There will also be a final exam during exam period.

For question one, in the demand equation p = a-bQ^d, the d is not an exponent - it is a superscript to indicate that the quantity is the quantity demanded.
