clarification on fatty acid oxidation handout+new handout for aminoacid metabolism posted

The last page of the fatty acid oxidation handout is showing the case of an unsaturated fatty acid oxidation mechanism. Everything is the same except for the unsaturated one the double bond is isomerized by a specific enoyl-CoA isomerase, and oxidation continues. That is why the next steps are eliminated.
Good luck on the final,

Ezgi

Exam#4 from 2009 is posted!

Hey all,

the exam#4 from 2009 is now posted for you to take it as a practice exam. I will post the solutions to it on Tuesday.

The policy for what you can bring to this exam is the same as for exam#3 - anything you want, as long as it is handwritten.

You will have 1.5 hours to solve this exam, the same as for exam #3.

Exam #4 covers lectures 28-35. Pyrimidines biosyhnthesis is NOT required for exam#4.

Thanks!
Simona
