Optional Recitation On 4/25

The optional one-hour evening recitation on Thursday 4/25 will be held twice in 34-101.  The first hour will be 6:30-7:30 PM and the second hour will be 7:30-8:30 PM.  The topic of the recitation will be the material originally planned for recitation on 4/19.  While optional, the evening recitation will cover material that will help with PS10.

Revised Plan As Of 4/23

Many things must be rescheduled as follows.  Please note in particular a special *optional* evening recitation on Thursday 4/25.

PS08:

PS08 will be brought to recitation on 4/26 for pick up.  Those not picked up at that time will be put in the box outside Professor Lang's office.

PS09:

There has been no opportunity yet to turn in PS09.  It will now be due in Recitation on Friday 4/26.  We will try to have it graded in time to be returned during tutorials on Monday 4/29 and Tuesday 4/30.

PS10:

The due date for PS10 will now be pushed back to recitation on Wednesday 5/1.  It will be graded in time to be returned in recitation on Wednesday 5/8.  (Note that there are no tutorials during the week of 5/6-10 due to Lab 2.)

PS11:

PS11 will proceed as originally planned since it is the pre-lab for Lab #2.  It will be posted on the 6.002 website on Wednesday 4/24.  Paper copies will be available in lecture on Thursday 4/25 and in recitation on Friday 4/26.  It will be due as planned in recitation on Wednesday 5/8.

Lab 2:

Lab 2 is scheduled for the week of 5/6-10, and will proceed as planned.  Copies of Lab 2 will be available soon on the 6.002 web site, and in recitation on Friday 4/26.  The early distribution of Lab 2 is done only to put PS11 in context.

Q2:

Q2 will be available for pick up after lecture on Thursday 4/25.  The TAs will take Q2 from their recitations to different corners of the lobby outside 34-101 to simplify the process.  Any Q2 not picked up at that time can be claimed in recitation on Friday 4/26.  Note that the solutions to Q2 are now posted on the 6.002 web site.  Finally, if you wish to have the grading of your Q2 examined, please do as with Q1.  Attach a note to the quiz and give it to any one on the teaching staff within the next two weeks.

Lost Recitations:

Recitations were cancelled for Friday 4/19 and Wednesday 4/24.  They will be made up in different ways.  The material from the recitation on 4/19 will be presented in two *optional* recitations on Thursday 4/25, one at 6:30-7:30 PM and one at 7:30-8:30 PM.  (The second recitation hour is a repeat of the first.  You need only go to one.)  Please watch the 6.002 web site for a room.  We hope to announce it in lecture on 4/25 as well.  The material from 4/24 will be moved to the recitation on Friday 4/26, and the material from 4/26 will be combined with the material originally scheduled for Recitation on Wednesday 5/1.

Lab Notebooks:

There are still a few lab notebooks that have not been picked up.  They are outside Professor Lang's office.

Problem Set Due Dates

In order to lighten the load in 6.002 a little bit, we will push back the due dates for the problem sets.  Problem Set 9 will now be due in Recitation on Wednesday April 24 and Problem Set 10 will now be due in Rectation on Friday April 26.  Hopefully our graders will be able to grade both probem sets in time for them to be returned during tutorials on Monday/Tuesday April 29/30.  In addition, Problem 9.4 was mistakenly assigned again as Problem 10.3.  There is no need to do it twice.  Rather, shorten Problem Set 10 by removing Problem 10.3.  Finally, Problem Set 11 will go out as usual in Recitation on Wednesday April 24.  This problem set is the pre-lab for Lab #2, and will not be due until May 8.  It is our last problem set.
