Final Grades
Kolya and I graded the exam this afternoon and decided on final grades for the course. If I understand how Stellar works well enough, all the graded work including the final should now be approved and available for viewing.Overall, I am very pleased with how people handled 8.08 . We covered quite a breadth of advanced and specialized material, and I think all of you should be proud you stuck it out to the end despite being confronted by a dizzying array of challenging concepts; indeed, the letter grades given in the course are meant to reflect this.
If you are interested in looking over your final exam, you are welcome to make an appointment with Kolya to see it this week, but we are going to hold on to the hardcopies.
Now that all else is done with, I hope those of you who have not yet done so will PLEASE FILL OUT ONLINE COURSE EVAULATIONS!!! so that I may be the beneficiary of your constructive feedback, whether laudatory or critical.
While we only scratched the surface of the most of the subjects we took up, hopefully you now feel you have a birds' eye view of a broad vista of different fascinating areas in stat mech. I encourage anyone interested in pursuing further study in the field to let me know if you're looking for advice on future reading. Thanks again for a great semester. It's been my pleasure to teach you what I understand about a subject I love so much.
