Will Email Grades

There's clearly something Kolya and I do not yet understand about the gradebook system, as it sounds like you can't see your grades yet. Will send emails shortly.

Apologies,

Final Grades Posted

Thank you for all of your hard work and enthusiasm this semester. The finals have been graded and course grades have been approved. If you would like to make an appointment to come in and look at your final at my office in NE46 607 you are welcome to in the next couple days.

I am really pleased with how you all did in the class. We had 10 A grades, 6 B grades, and 3 C grades, which means you all achieved a significant mastery of some very challenging material.

I hope, if you have not already, that you'll take the time to submit an online evaluation of the course, where your feedback (whether critical or laudatory) will be highly valuable to me in shaping the course for future years.

Thanks to you all for lending your attention and interest as I've rambled on about subjects that fascinate me. It's been a real pleasure teaching you.

Final Exam

Just a few bits of information about the final exam, which in principle you already have, but may as well be stated here:

- The test will be open-book/open-note.
- You may not use any electronic device during the exam, nor will you need to.
- You will have 180 minutes to complete the exam.
- You will be offered four problems and asked to choose three. Only the three problems that you indicate will be graded.
- The exam covers material from the entire course (up to Jarzynski), in principle, but with an emphasis on the second half of the semester.
- The problems will be in the style of the midterm, though perhaps somewhat longer since you have an hour for each of them.
