Exam #4 Details
Exam 4 will be released on Tuesday, May 19th, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The exam will cover material from Lectures 24-32. You will have 24 hours to complete the exam, and you can take the exam during any 90 minute time within this 24-hour window, but the exam must be completed by 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, May 20th. Extensions are not possible per MIT rules since this test was assigned to happen over the very end of the final exam window. There will be office hours on Friday, 5/15, and on Monday, 5/18. Additionally, Irene and Luis will record review sessions that will be posted on MITx by Friday evening (5/15). Please respond to my Piazza post if there is anything you would like to be covered in more detail during the review session.
The exam will be comprised of an MITx component and a PDF
component. The questions on MITx will be in the same format as Exam
3. For other questions which require drawing or longer responses,
there will be a PDF that you will download from MITx to write down
answers and then re-upload to the site.
The exam is designed to be completed in 90 minutes, but extra time
will be provided to allow students time to download, fill out the
PDF, and upload it to MITx. For questions on the PDF, we suggest
using the following methods to respond to the questions:
1. Download the PDF and respond to questions directly on the PDF
document using a tablet to write and draw, or respond to written
questions with a text box. For drawings, you can draw on a separate
piece of paper, take a picture of the drawing, and then add the
picture into the PDF as your answer.
2. Print out the PDF and write your answers on the piece of paper,
and then scan the completed document
This is a closed-book exam. You are allowed to have 2 handwritten crib sheets for the exam. This is in addition to the crib sheets that you have written for Exams 1, 2, and 3, which you can also use.
After Exam 4 is released, we will not be answering questions related to exam material, as this would be unfair to students who have taken the exam earlier in this time window. Please do not post Exam 4 material-related questions on Piazza after the exam is released on Tuesday, May 19th, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Good luck!
