\section{Machine-Specific Software}
%% email from ckclark, 1992 March 10

It is customary to copy all special files which are stored on the local
disk of a SIPB workstation into:
\begin{center}\tt
/afs/sipb/project/office-machines/{\it machine-name}/{\it path-to-file}
\end{center}

This is so we can restore these local customizations easily in the event
that a future Athena release upgrade changes or removes these files, or
if some other failure occurs (e.g., a hard disk problem) which requires
us to re-install the software. At the very least, the {\tt site/CHANGES} file
should mention where copies of the necessary files are kept, so that any
reasonably clueful SIPB member can restore the machine to its proper
state if and when it becomes necessary.

\section{SIPB Terminals and Supplies}
%%%%%%%shabby

The SIPB owns many terminals. Chiefly, they are located in the SIPB
office (w20-557) or in the machine room in the public Athena
cluster next door. They are used in many ways, such as providing
NetNews to the MIT community and serving as a major node on the usenet,
providing locker full of useful, interesting and/or entertaining
programs available to anyone on the Internet with AFS access. And
several machines, residing in the SIPB office provide a place for
members and prospectives to log in.

%
% Mention SIPB use of other (non-sipb) machines, maybe.
%

Currently (as of today, perhaps not as of the time you're reading this),
the SIPB machines are:
