Getting Started This package has been tested on Matlab 5.3.1 and 6.5.1 Service Pack 1. The minimum requirement for this package is MATLAB Version 5.3.1. To get started, you need to unzip the package into a new directory. After launching Matlab, you first add this new directory to the Matlab path. Type 'plsgui' to start this Graphical User Interface. - How to run PLS analysis in this GUI system. Just like running PLS analysis using command line, running PLS analysis under the GUI can be divided into 3 steps: 1. Prepare datamat (data matrices) 2. Run analysis on datamat 3. Display results Here, we use the 3 buttons 'Session Profile', 'Run PLS Analysis', and 'Show PLS Result' to achieve the above 3 steps. The 'CLOSE' button will close this GUI system. - Tools Menu From the first window, you can select "Save GUI Positions" under its "Tools" menu. If you did that, all windows positions will be remembered in a file called "pls_profile.mat". If you do not have permission to save this file, the program will prompt you to save it somewhere else. Instead of always using the default setting in the display panel of the result window for PET, E.R.fMRI, or Blocked fMRI, the "Save Display Setting for PET/MRI" allows you keep the current setting you entered in the display panel of the result window. For "Run PLS Analysis ..." and "Show PLS Result ...", program will look for files on current directory. If they are not on current directory, you can select "Change Current Working Directory" to change it. - Data that can be analyzed This GUI system allows you to perform PLS analysis on PET scans, ERP waveforms, Event Related fMRI scans, and Blocked fMRI scans. (The default is for PET scan). You can choose one of them to analyze by clicking the corresponding button. Once you choose the data format, you will follow the above 3 steps to prepare datamats, run the analysis and view results. - Where are the help files? All the help files end with '_hlp.txt', except this 'README.txt' help file. You can open them with any text editor to view or print. You can close the help file window by the window close button defined in your operating system. You can also close it by clicking the page number area. - Copyright Issues All the codes in this package were developed by people working for Rotman Research Institute.
