How to use the Contrast Window - Creating Contrast Data (Input Mode) Contrast data is such a matrix, in which each row represents its corresponding a condition, and each column represents its contrast. If you have more than one groups, contrast should be stacked together, so number of rows in contrast data should equal to num_cond * num_grp. Contrast data must be linear independent and column-wise orthogonal for each group (each contrast must be perpendicular each other). If you already have such a matrix in ASCII format, it can be loaded to this contrast window buy click "Load" under "File" menu. Otherwise, you can simply enter the data contrast by contrast. Each contrast is a series of numbers in the order of the conditions listed in the panel at the right hand side. Click "Plot" button for different contrast will give you a bar plot of the specific contrast pattern. Click "Clear" under "Edit" menu will clear all the contrast data in the contrast window. If you do not have any specific contrast matrix, and have no idea how to build one on fly, you can always click "Using Helmert Matrix" under "File" menu to let program choose a proper contrast data for you. Once you have the contrast data in the contrast window, you can click "Save" or "Save As" to save the contrast matrix in ASCII format. - Viewing Contrast Information (View-Only Mode) If the result datamat is generated by PLS Analysis using contrast data, you can find a "Contrast Information" submenu, and click it to open the contrast window. The contrast window mentioned above is in input mode, while the contrast window opened from the result window is in view-only mode. In view-only mode, no "Load", "Save", "Add", or "Delete" is allowed.
