Configuring the Memory Allocated to a Virtual Machine
The maximum amount of memory that can be allocated to any single virtual
machine created with VMware ESX Server
is 3.6GB (3600MB).
The default amount of memory that is allocated to a new virtual machine
created with VMware ESX Server depends upon
- the guest operating system configured for the virtual machine
- the server's console operating system
- the amount of physical memory installed in the server
- the memory limit for all virtual machines (referred to as reserved memory)
You set the memory for a virtual machine through the VMware
Management Interface.
