Configuring a Virtual Disk
You can configure settings for a virtual disk when its virtual machine is
powered off. To do so:
- Connect to the virtual machine with a
console. Make sure the virtual machine is powered off.
- Select Settings > Configuration Editor from
the console.
- Click the + sign next to IDE Drives or SCSI Devices.
- Select the device node for the virtual hard disk you want to modify. For
example, select the P-M device node.
- On the right-hand side, you can change the following settings:
- The disk file used to save the contents of the virtual machine.
- The disk mode used for the
virtual disk.
- If you are connecting to a virtual machine on a Linux host,
whether or not write caching is enabled for the disk.
You can also defragment your virtual disk
by clicking the Defragment button.
