Changing the Connection for a Floppy Drive from a Virtual Machine
You can change the connection for a virtual floppy drive. For example, you
can associate a different physical drive with the virtual drive, or choose to
use a floppy image instead of a physical drive connection.
To change the connection for a virtual floppy drive:
- Select File > Open and open the virtual machine configuration file
(.cfg) you want to modify.
- Select Settings > Configuration Editor from
the console.
- From the list of devices,
select the floppy drive.
- On the far right, make a different selection under
Type:
- Device.
Select this option if you want the guest operating system in the virtual machine
to access the physical floppy drive on the host machine. Then choose the drive
letter that should correspond to the virtual floppy drive.
- File.
Select this option if you want the virtual floppy drive to connect to an image
file stored on the host file system.
Then click
Choose to locate the image file to which this virtual floppy
drive should be connected.
- Click OK.
