Setting Up Virtual Machines with Virtual Disks

Virtual disks are the disk partitions of virtual machines. They are stored as files on the file system of your host operating system. Since an entire disk partition is saved as a file, it is easy to back up, move and copy. You can even share virtual disks from a file server.

To set up a virtual machine with a virtual disk, you must first add one to the virtual machine.
