Copying and Pasting

When VMware Tools is running, you can copy and paste text between applications in the virtual machine and the host computer or between two virtual machines.

To copy and paste:

Be sure you have installed and started the VMware Tools in your virtual machine.
Select the item to be copied in the source window using the method supported by the operating system in the source window.
Change cursor and keyboard control to the destination window, and paste the item using the method supported by the operating system in the destination window.

You can only copy and paste text, not graphics or other items.

Note: If you are copying text from a Windows host into a Linux guest operating system, you can paste only by using the middle mouse button. If you are using a two-button mouse, click both mouse buttons at the same time to paste.
