Specifying Where Virtual Machines Are Created

Select: Host > Settings > General

On this tab you specify the default directory path that VMware VMware Server uses any time you create a new virtual machine. To set the default directory path for new virtual machines, under Default path for virtual machines type in a new path or click Browse and navigate to the directory you want to use for new virtual machines, then click OK.

This setting applies to virtual machines created by the user currently logged in to the host operating system — on a Linux host this setting applies to the user who launched the VMware product, who in most cases is the currently logged in user. You must be an administrator or the root user to change these settings.
