Apply this patch to your XMosaic browser (sorry, I only have the patch
for XMosaic; pester other browser writers to add this feature, they can

for more information if needed). This patch should be compatible with existing documents. Only images with the ISMAP flag set have the new function (e.g., <IMG SRC="..." ISMAP>). The way this works is the the client sends a query along with the URL that specifies the mouse coordinates (e.g., http://www.bsdi.com/decode_walk becomes http://www.bsdi.com/decode_walk?35,78.
This demo allows you to select different regions of an image and have different actions take place (i.e., different documents are returned based on the X,Y coordinates of the mouse selection). You might also find it interesting to see what happens when you use a standard browser and select the image (you get a menu of the things you can select, this is for backwards compatibilty).
The currently recognized regions are: outer space, earth, astronaut, camera and the space suit pack.
