Motif is licensed to MIT as an institution and not to you as an 
individual.  YOU ARE PERMITTED TO USE MOTIF ONLY WHILE A MEMBER OF THE 
MIT COMMUNITY.  When you leave MIT, you must delete any and all portions 
of Motif in your posession or stored on a personally owned computer when 
you leave MIT. The only exception to this is Run Time Copy applications 
created while you were a member of the MIT community (see below).  If 
you take any other portions of Motif with you, it will be considered an 
illegal copy.
 
As a member of the MIT community, you are responsible for using Motif in 
accordance with the following terms and conditions:
 
Motif as referenced here includes OSF/Motif 1.0 through X.Y.Z, as
defined and released by OSF. It applies to any and all parts of the
Motif distribution, including such items as the Window Manager,
Interface Toolkit (Widget/Gadget Library), and the User Interface
Language (UIL).
 
Documentation means user manuals, handbooks and other materials
supplied with the distribution, including a Style Guide, Application
Environment Specification (AES), a Programmer's Guide and a User's
Guide.
 
PERMITTED USE:
 
You may use, modify and prepare derivative works of Motif but only for 
use within MIT.  
 
You may copy Motif to the extent necessary for your own use and to write 
your own applications.
 
You may not distribute copies of Motif or any portions of Motif, except 
as explained below.  If anyone asks you for a copy of Motif in either 
object code or source code form, please refer them to Alex Prengel, Jr.,

You may use, copy, modify, prepare derivative works of and distribute 
Documentation but only for use within MIT.
 
DISTRIBUTION OF APPLICATIONS WHICH EMBED MOTIF:
 
You may distribute an application you write which embeds Motif ONLY if 
the embedded code is a "Run Time Copy" of Motif.

The term "Run Time Copy" means an object code copy which is integrated 
within an application program and executable only within that single 
application, and which DOES NOT include any portion of a linkable object 
file (".o file"), library file (".a file"), the mwm window manager, the 
UIL compiler, a shared library or any tool or mechanism that enables 
generation of any portion of such components.
 
You may distribute applications with Run Time Copies of Motif to 
whomever you wish both within and outside of MIT, but only in object 
code (statically linked executable) form.
 
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS:
 
Please remember that Motif - including those portions of Motif in your 
applications - does not belong either to you or to the Institute.  
Whenever you copy any portion of Motif or the documentation, you must 
include the copyright, patent and/or trademark notices which appear on 
the original portions of those materials as delivered to you.

CONFIDENTIALITY:
 
You must keep confidential any documentation or other material from
OSF which is labeled and designated "CONFIDENTIAL".
 
You may NOT (i) disclose Motif source code or any other confidential 
information to anyone outside of MIT; (ii) allow anyone outside of MIT 
access to the software or other confidential information; or (iii) 
use Motif in any way which is not expressly stated here.
