Changing Snapshot Options

This panel contains the following:

• It shows you the date on which a snapshot was taken of the virtual machine.
• It allows you to lock the snapshot (so that you cannot accidentally overwrite it with a new snapshot)
  • To lock a snapshot, check the Lock this snapshot check box.
• It provides several options to control the way GSX Server handles the snapshot when you power off the virtual machine.

Options when powering off include

• Don't change the snapshot — leaves the snapshot as it is.
• Revert to the snapshot — reverts to the snapshot so the virtual machine always starts in the same state.
• Update the snapshot, then power off— takes a new snapshot of the virtual machine state as it was just before you powered off; this replaces the previous snapshot.
• Ask me what to do — always asks what you want to do with the snapshot when you power off.
