Setting Workspace Preferences

On this tab you can specify your workspace preferences for the VMware console window.

• Set the default directory path for new virtual machines.

  You can specify the default directory path that VMware GSX Server uses any time you create a new virtual machine. To set the default directory path for new virtual machines, under Default path for virtual machines type in a new path or click Browse and navigate to the directory you want to use for new virtual machines, then click OK.

  This setting applies to virtual machines created by the user who launched the VMware product — in most cases, the user currently logged in to the host operating system.

• Indicate that when you start a console, any virtual machines that are open and were powered on in a previous session should be displayed in the virtual machine display.

  When you select the Remember opened virtual machines between sessions checkbox, you see a tab for a given virtual machine when you start a console if:

  • the virtual machine was left open, and
  • the virtual machine was powered on and off, or powered on and suspended
