More information is trickling in. Several people identified the marching music as being from Per Gynt. I listened to an old tape I had of a show where the song was performed. Unfortunately, the performance was by a large choral, and the lyrics are not distinct. There are two more stanzas not in the above transcription that were on my tape. However, even with repeated listingings with headphones, I can't really make them out. They go after the second verse above. (mumble) the fog is thick, where is your compass? Better talk real loud so nobody bump us. Oscar and Elmer, Edgar and Hjalmer, Heading up to catch the big one. Are you sure this is where they said we should try for?
