General Settings
The
General Settings
screen allows you to set general parameters for the selected user. The parameters available to you depend upon your
PAT Access Level
for the system. When you select
General
from the
Edit Settings
menu, the
General Settings
screen appears.
The
General Settings
screen allows you to view and configure the following parameters:

Username
: This setting displays the name of the user whose preferences you are modifying. If you are a health care provider, this will be you. If you are an administrator, then this will be the name of the user whose preferences you are modifying.

Personnel ID
: This setting displays the unique identification number assigned to the user.

Position
: This setting displays the name of the position that the user holds within the health care facility.

Complete/Incomplete Status
: This setting displays whether or not a user's account has a
Complete
or
Incomplete
status. A user must have a
Complete
status in order to use the system. To ensure that a user has a
Complete
status, you must save the settings for that user by clicking the
Save
button at the bottom of the screen.

Handheld User
: This setting determines whether or not the user accesses the system using a handheld device. Choose
Yes
to enable the user to access the system via a handheld device; choose
No
to prevent this.

Departments
: This setting displays the departments to which the user is assigned. Click the
Edit
link to modify current department settings or to assign departments to a user. From the screen that appears, check all appropriate departments for the user and then click the
Save
button.

PAT Access Level
: This setting allows an administrator to set the
PAT Access Level
for a user or himself. This setting determines what features the user has access to within the system. Typically, information systems administrators have Level 1 access, department-level administrative personnel have Level 2 access, and most other users (such as physicians) have Level 3 access.

Password
: Click the
Edit
link to modify the password setting for user. In the
Change Password
form, fill in the current password, the new password, and the new password a second time for confirmation. Click the
Save
button to change the password.
