FINAL FANTASY: HEAVEN'S RIFT
By Danny Bates, Ken Clary, and Peter Litwack
A high-action one-night game
running the afternoon/evening of Saturday, November 20.

(reminder: fall guild meeting the next day, 11/21 at 2 pm)

While war rages between the expansionist E.M.P.I.R.E. to the south and
the Kingdom of Voltavia to the northwest, the Corporate Protectorate
of SABRE to the northeast is considered neutral ground. SABRE is a
powerful, privately owned megacorporation that has built itself a
nation.

Shintsu Tower, the centerpiece of Kirin City, is visible for many
kilometers from the surrounding countryside. Shimmering glass,
gleaming steel, and a grand airship dock (supporting all manner of
dirigible and zeppelin) dominate the skyline at sunset.

And then the scene changes.

A blinding flash of light scorches the heavens. The tower is wracked
by a large, magical explosion. Tiny, glowing specks fly and swirl
around the building as an ominous volume of glowing red magical energy
surges forth from the upper floors. Panic and chaos ensue in the
streets below.

Oh how we pity the fate of those trapped inside (that being you).

This game is inspired by the Final Fantasy series of video games, and
it may steal themes and archetypes from them, but knowledge of the
games is not required to play. It is not set in the particular
setting of any of the games.

The rules and scenario are at web.mit.edu/kenclary/Public/Guild/FFHR/
in dvi, ps, and pdf formats.

Please reply to ff-gms@mit.edu with your completed application or any
questions.
