/mit/watchmaker/src is in a different volume---a non-replicated one.
For the sake of stability, I think that the installed programs should
all be in the same volume.  The commonbin should have to wait for the
volume to be released, just like everything else.  As far as names go,
I don't think it matters.  But do you also want a commonlib, or do you
want common/bin, common/lib?
