Subject: dvips now uses 600dpi fonts by default

Sender: bert@Athena.MIT.EDU

I have changed config.ps (the dvips global configuration file) to
use 600dpi fonts. It will also print out a message describing the
change. (The message is /mit/sipb/lib/tex/ps-config/message.)
The new fonts should work with the old 300dpi printers. The old fonts
can be used explicitly by using "dvips -D 300".

The fonts currently available are all Computer Modern fonts, plus
lcircle10 and logo10. I'll build other ones if the need arises and I
can find the sources.

It is also possible to get the new HP printers to print double-sided
by using "-h duplex" option to dvips; "-h bottomtray" prints from the
bottom tray, and "-h tumble" does "tumble" mode (which automatically
activates doublespacing). (Thanks to Keith <solo26@mit.edu> for the
header files!)

Bugs or problems (as well as requests for missing fonts) should be
sent to bug-sipb@mit.edu.
