some overlap among the mailing lists it's been posted to.]

Hello, my name is Carson Schutze, musical director of the MIT Musical Theatre
Guild's summer production of Chess.  I'm looking for people to play in the pit
orchestra.  If you're interested, or you know someone who might be, please
get in touch with me either by e-mail (cschutze@athena) or phone (720-7828).
If you're not interested, I would also appreciate a brief reply to that effect,
otherwise I may eventually call you about this.  Thanks.

The Show: Chess, by Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus and Tim Rice, a
	wonderful score of orchestral rock, with classical elements mixed in

Show dates: August 27, 28, 29, September 2, 3, 4, 6, 7

Rehearsals: probably three or four in July and/or August, days and times
completely open, then evenings during prod week (starting Aug 23 or 24)

Orchestration: (in addition to the list below, I am also looking for 
		REHEARSAL PIANISTS)

4 Reeds (some combinations of flute/picc, clarinet, oboe/e.h., bassoon,
	perhaps bari sax)
Horn
Trumpets
Trombones
Violins
Celli
Bass
Drums
Percussion
Guitar
Keyboards

The plan: here's how I'm going to work it.  Between now and the end of June
I am collecting names and contact info (e.g. SUMMER PHONE NUMBERS) from
everyone who is interested, but I'm not offering any actual positions yet.
Once the parts arrive, I will contact everyone who has expressed an interest,
plus postering, to invite people to an open read-through.  If after that I
have more people than I need, I will either make decisions based on the
read-through or else have individual auditions.

So, please let me know when you get a chance, and pass this information on to
your musical friends.
