Hi people --

I want to apologize for not writing for some time, but life has
intruded on my Go life in a rather unpleasant manner. I want to
assure everyone that I still hope to implement the plans for the
Go dojo that I outlined earlier. I hope none of you has given up
on me.

The reason why I haven't been able to produce much in the line of
Go lessons and game commentary for you is that, because of his
heart attack, my best friend has become a semi-invalid and has
needed a good bit of help. His medication can cause blackouts
and his wife doesn't drive, so I have to chauffeur him to doctor
appointments and lab tests. We've also had to take his newborn
son to the hospital twice.

I'm still looking for a technical writing/editing job (have to
pay the rent, you know). Between job hunting and helping out my
friend, I have almost no free time. I apologize for the disap-
pointment; I know you all have great expectations for the Go dojo.

I hope to send out a couple of commented games this weekend (if I
can get the "variation" feature of mgt working -- thanks for the
advice, Huayong [haven't had a chance to sit down and actually
try the procedure you gave me :-]). It takes me a while to com-
ment a game because I tend to look things up in my library to
make sure that I haven't misremembered a sequence, overlooked an
alternative, or forgotten a tricky tesuji (sometimes they can
make a huge difference in the endgame, for example).

Bye,
Max.
