Comment[Yang: If white play K4 pincer, I guess black C6 is the only choice. However, white J4 pincer gives black three choices: C3, F5, and C6. Are all the choices playable?\(The question can rephrased as: is some joseki preferable to others in this situation?\)]

Comment[Yang: is it the biggest point? Some other big points, I think, are: Q18 \(slow?\), Q10/R10, C14\(I don't quite like it since white will get more valuable top with F16 while b get less valuable left side.\) I am not sure if my friend's feeling is correct. This kind of questions \(where is the biggest and where is the most urgent place\) give me headache.]

Comment[Yang: it took him about 5 min to come up with this move. Is black tenuki possible? ]
Black[cm]
;
White[dl]
;
Comment[Yang: it seems to me it is the right direction since the left side is wider than the upper side. That is, I think this move is better than F17. However, I don't quite agree on white's next move. see var.B for what is in my mind about white's next move.]

Comment[Yang: now it is a tough decision how to reduce white's moyo. J15 looks normal to me. But before playing J15, should black play C18 first? However, black might as well limit white's moyo from the lower side with K5. Furthermore, with K5 black can strenthen his moyo. \(cf. white M5 if black not K5\) So is the lower side more important? Big point, urgent place, order, timing,... I am totally lost.:-\)
\(So I joked my friend: why don't you just throw a dice and make a choice? But he didn't. This move took him 5 more min. Time is running out...\)]

Comment[Yang: I think black should tenuki here. Play J15 right now! In retrospect, white's C18 is questionable \(gote\). Without white stone at B12, black can live.]
