if you need to compile perl 4.036 for linux, these two tarfiles should be all
you need.

To get started:

first untar perl-4.036.tar.gz, then perl-4.036-linux-kit.tar.gz, both
in the same directory. (I.e. the linux-kit untars into the directories
created by the base perl-4.036 tarball).

Read perl-4.036/README.1st (from the linux-kit) for instructions.
