Faces is a window-based tool for visually monitoring lists with icons.
Typically, it is used to monitor mail, print queues or users on a
system.  It contains graphical interfaces for NeWS, SunView, XView and
X11.  The development of faces is led by Richard.Burridge@Eng.Sun.COM.

Note that the filters and scripts are also included in the regular faces
source distribution, but these here are guaranteed to be the most
up-to-date.

The recommended order of the databases for your faces FACEPATH search
path is:

	0) your personal database, if any
	1) your local database, if any
	2) xface, if you are building one with addxface
	3) facedir, optional
	4) facesaver, optional, this is huge and can slow faces down
		somewhat to use it
	5) logos, you'll want this for the unknown and MISC default faces

The news and weather databases are more special purpose and may be alone
in the FACEPATH when using applications which require them, such as
newscheck.faces or wx.faces.

You may upload or send me a copy of your local database for inclusion
in the facedir database.  Also, any individual facedir, logos or news
bitmaps may be uploaded here or, preferably, submitted via e-mail
to a special mail address -- see the README.incoming file in the
{facedir,logos,news}.tar.Z files or in the incoming/{facedir,logos,news}
directories here for details, including some advice on creating faces
bitmaps.
