NEW PRESIDENT

FLYING CLUB PHOTO CONTEST
If you have any cool aviation, aerial, flying, or aircraft photos, email them to .  You have until Friday at midnight. (April 6th).  Winning photos will be hung in the flying club's space in the Stata Center, put on the website, and be used for the new MIT Flying Club poster.  Winner's will all receive a prize, and a t-shirt.

Flying Club Spring Meeting, Thursday April 19th, 6pm, location TBA
     - Ice Cream!
     - Jim McGrew (Former USAF F-15C pilot) will discuss the
     building, and certifying of experimental (kit) airplanes, and discuss the
     RV-10 he personally built.
     - Hawk Flying Club Summer Membership raffle, fly a Cessna 150
     for $50/hr or a Cherokee 180 for $78.
     - Executive Board elections, become an officer!
     - A special surprise.


Bridgeport FSS trip, April 16th or 17th - Email if interested.  SPACE IS LIMITTED.

Spring Flyout The fall Flyout had 13 people and four airplanes fly to Sanford, ME for a lobster lunch.  The spring flyout will be even larger and more fun. Coming in late April.  Details TBA, Recommendations, email .

Flying Club T-shirts We are currently ordering Flying Club t-shirts, picture on the website (web.mit.edu/mitflying).   If you'd like a t-shirt, email , they'll probably be under $10/shirt.

IFR-Simulator Set-up and ready to go for Campus Preview Weekend.  Details for use given at the flying club meeting.

The MIT Flying Club will be kicking off the new semester with a general meeting to be held on February 27, from 6pm-7pm.  Please join us for our exec board election, as well as raffling of membership to the Hawk Flying Club.  Food will be provided...and stay tuned for a special announcement.  All members both new and old are encouraged to come.  See you then!

Interested in learning how to fly a Boeing 767? Then consider taking the Boeing 767 IAP course held January 29-February 2 here on the MIT campus. Open to MIT affiliates only.

	Enrollment in training and Logan airport sessions limited to 12
	participants.
	Prereq: Basic flight simulator flying skills (see below).
	Advance registration required (see contact below) by January 12.
	Registrants expected to attend all sessions (non-series)

	Are you an aero-engineering student, pilot, or serious desktop flight
	simulator user ? Want to understand how transport aircraft systems and
	automation work ? Boeing and MIT Aero/Astro are offering a systems and
	automation familiarization course corresponding to those taken by Boeing
	engineers and airline pilots. Classroom lectures and afternoon/evening
	sessions using a sophisticated B767-300 desktop flight simulator, computer
	based training modules, and a real B767 at Logan Airport. You don't have to
	be a real world pilot, but you should have some familiarity with basic
	desktop flight simulator flying.  Simulator, computer based training, Logan
	airport trip and Stellar web site access limited to 12 preregistrants.
	Preregistration required by January 12.  Intensive course. Morning lectures
	open to MIT community - no registration required.

The MIT Flying Club has extended the T-shirt contetst until November 22nd.  Please submit all entries to .  We have some great entries so far--let's see what else everyone has to offer!  The award ceremony will be held Nov. 28, 6pm.
