Though the nature of Noun Poetry does not lend itself to recurring characters, a few have emerged.

• Happy Slug
  He is a little yellow slug that never leaves his box. He is always happy, bright, and good natured. He likes to dance.

• Staple Lover
  He has a rather large staple he is fond of, which he usually holds in his hand, even when it would be more convenient if he were not holding it. He's most easily identifiable by his "I love my staple" T-shirt. Despite the happiness he should have from holding his staple, he's a rather angstful and unfortunate character.

• The very small scotsman
  He holds very large things.
