The Numerical Algorithms Group, which is based in Oxford, England, uses the term "Mark" to denote a release of the library. Thus, Mark 11, is actually the 11th release of the library. The new library contains a total of 525 user-callable routines; 35 of these routines are new in this Mark. In addition, a number of routines in Mark 10 have been revised to incorporate improvements to algorithms. One of the routines from Mark 10 has been withdrawn. This routine, D01FAF, computed adaptive monte-carlo multidimensional integration. NAG recommends D01GBF as a replacement routine. The following chapters have been updated with new routines: @itemize{ Summation of Series Maximizing or Minimizing a Function Matrix Operations, Including Inversion Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors Simultaneous Linear Equations Time Series Analysis Approximations of Special Functions } Documentation for the new release is supplied as inserts to the current manuals. The document sets in the terminal rooms and libraries (??) will be updated when the library is installed. Along with information about new and revised routines in Mark 11, the new NAG documentation lists 12 routines which are scheduled to be withdrawn at Mark 12, with suggested replacements. People who have programs on-line which call NAG subroutines should check the Mark 11 documentation for more information. Mark 10 of the library will be kept on-line in /usr/athena/lib/libnag10.a. You can load this version with your program, by appending the option -lnag10 to your f77, cc or ld command. To access the current version of NAG, just use -lnag.
