Recently there has been controversy on this forum concerning what might be
considered "on-topic" in this newsgroup. Two different people have tried
to attack others for their posts and have tried to justify these attacks
on the basis of the posts not being "on-topic." These attacks have
included complaints to ISP's and have caused at least one ISP to try to
tell the rest of us what is appropriate material in this forum.

Because of this several of us, myself included, have been engaged
off-forum in a discussion of this issue. It's clear that most of us
believe that alt.adoption is and should be unmoderated. Because of the
emotional and political nature of adoption, wide latitude should be given
to the expression of opinion. Shea Grimm has taken these thoughts and
written, with input from several, a FAQ which explains this. This FAQ has
been put through the denizens of news.answers and has been accepted by
them as a FAQ relating to this forum.

Some here might question the propriety of such a FAQ. To them I would say
