Hello,

You have just sent email to Postmaster@MCI.NET. We're sorry to have to
redirect your request, but we receive many messages each day, and we
need to determine who can take care of your email needs.

This automatic response will only be sent to you every 30 days, however
all of your mail will be received and read.

If you have a complaint regarding unsolicited email or inappropriate
usenet posting from an MCI customer, please send email to
'ABUSE@MCI.NET'.

If you experience mail delivery problems to email addresses of the
form <USER>@MCI.NET that may require action by the administrators of
this system, send email to 'SYSADMIN@MCI.NET'.

Your mail will be read by real people -- but most questions we get are
answered by the information below.

Answers to some common questions:

How can I send mail to a MCImail/InternetMCI/MCI2000/CampusMCI user?
How can a MCImail user send mail to me?
How do I find a MCImail user's id?
I want to let you know that NS.MCI.NET is lame for some domain.
I can't reach some IP address or the network throughput is bad.
 I get 'host MCI.NET unknown' and / or I can't see MCI's MX records.
I WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING ON USENET POSTED BY A MCI CUSTOMER.
What if my question wasn't answered by the information here?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can I send mail to a MCImail user?
Address to your message to '999-9999@MCImail.com' where '999-9999' is
the user's MCImail service ID. MCImail service ID's are exactly 7 digits
long (like a telephone number). The '-' is optional. Messages may also be
sent to 'firstname_lastname@MCImail.com', however if the users' name is not
unique in the MCImail system the message will be returned to you.

How can I send mail to a internetMCI user?
 Please contact Postmaster@internetMCI.COM for help.

How can I send mail to a MCI2000 user?
 Please contact Postmaster@MCI2000.COM for help.

How can I send mail to a CampusMCI user?
 Please contact Postmaster@CAMPUS.MCI.NET for help.

How can a MCImail user send mail to me?
To address an envelope to a subscriber on Internet or one of it's
derivatives an MCImail user in terminal mode can:
  1. At the COMMAND prompt, type CREATE or CR.
  2. At TO prompt, type the recipient's name followed by EMS in parentheses.
   For example:
    To: Tom Jones (ems)
  3. At the EMS prompt, type the word Internet.
   For example:
    EMS: Internet
  4. At the MBX prompt, type the recipient's mailbox address.
    For example:
     MBX: JRD@example.com
  5. At the TO prompt, repeat steps 2 through 4 to enter more
Internet addresses; or press Return to skip this prompt.*

How do I find a MCImail user's id?
No directory is available to the open Internet. If you don't know the
IDs of persons to whom you want to send E-mail, please contact them
first via telephone, etc. or try sending email to them using
'firstname_lastname@MCImail.com'. If their name is not unique your
message will be will be returned to you with a list of userids of
 users with the same name.

I want to let you know that NS.MCI.NET is lame for some domain.
It's not necessary. We run programs daily that check all the
domains that we are authoritative for and which notify the
domain contact for the problem domain of the problem.

I can't reach some IP address or the network throughput is bad.
If you are an MCI customer send email to 'TROUBLE@MCI.NET' or
call 1-800-977-iNOC and open a trouble ticket. If you are not
a MCI customer please contact the Network Operations Center of
your own institution or Internet Service Provider. If need be they
can best work with MCI Network Operations Support to resolve
 network service issues.

I get 'host MCI.NET unknown' and/or I can't see MCI's MX records.
Please contact the system administrator or user support of the system or
service you are using. For sysadmins, is your mailer configured to use
MX records? If your nameserver is an IBM RS/6000 running AIX, you may need
a fix for IBM's 'negative caching problem in named' bug -- call your local
IBM support and ask for the fix for PMR 4x360 or PTF U434856.
If you are using a SunOS system make sure that you are using sendmail.mx
or a real version of Sendmail.

I want to complain about something on USENET posted by a MCI customer.
Complaints regarding posts or spams to USENET Newsgroups will be dealt
with according to MCI's policy which precludes the usual: chain-letters,
unsolicited ads, etc. Since numerous users often report the same problem,
we will NOT NECESSARILY respond to each person who complains personally -- but
your message will be read and acted upon if necessary. PLEASE include the
full headers of the article in question -- forwarding the article via many
newsreaders strips the headers and makes it difficult for us to find the
 original article.
