I sent email 2 or 3 months ago to news-answers-request saying that
I would no longer be posting the FAQ to news.answers. I got a
reply back from one of the moderators saying it would be removed from
the List. I can go search through my old email, if needed.

The FAQ is alive and well, but it's not called the Counted Cross
Stitch FAQ anymore--it's grown into 10 distinct Needlework
FAQs, and is still posted monthly (but only to rec.crafts.textiles.needlework.)
Its growth is the reason I chose to stop posting to news.answers.
The FAQs change so rapidly, that having to wait for news.answers
approval every time I wanted to change a title, or split off a new
FAQ was very difficult. When one makes a major change every 2 months,
waiting 2 or 3 months for approval just doesn't work. If things
ever stablize, I'll reapply for posting approval.
