I am ready to post this month's version of the FAQ, but I am a little
uncertain about the header.

I did some test posts on my local server and the returns I had in the
header did not appear in the host. I have contacted the writer of my news
software, John Norstad who is one of the leading authorities on macintoshes
and the internet and he says:

>Header lines are defined to end with the first empty line - that's what
>separates the "header lines" from the "body lines". So there's no such
>thing as "the main header ..., then a blank line, then the rest of the
>header".

I aso emailed my sysop, and he said:

>Article (and message) headers can't contain blank lines. A blank line
>is what separates the header from the body.

So I think the exra header must go in the first part of the post followed
by the second blank line, although this was not clear from the info you
sent me (unless I missed a bit).

My headers should look like this:

**News Header:

Subject: talk.origins FAQ (Creation) 1 of 3
Keywords: creation, evolution, abiogenesis
Newsgroups: talk.origins,news.answers,talk.answers

Summary: This posting contains a list of Frequently Asked Questions in
the creation / evolution debate answered from a Christian point of view,
including an outline of the Christian views, discussion of perceived flaws
in abiogenesis and evolution and a detailed explanation of the old earth
 creation viewpoint.
** then the news software puts in a blank line.
**Then the article parts begin:
Archive-name: talk-origins/creation/part1
Posting-Frequency: monthly
Last-modified: October 1 1996
Expires: 1996/11/07
Version: 1.7

 The talk.origins FAQ (Creation) Homepage
(Blank line.)
Then the text of that part of the post.

Is this OK?
