                     alt.adoption.issues

This is the place to "enter the battle" on the side of positive adoption
practices and to preserve the instituiton of adoption as we know it.

This is the First (and REAL) FAQ for alt.adoption.issues.

First you might ask, "What is this newsgroup for?"

This newsgroup is for revealing/exposing the true agendas of SO CALLED
"adoption reform" AND "adoption reformers", from here on in refered to on
this newsgroup as 'adoption deform' AND 'adoption deformers' which is a
more fitting description of what they in fact, ARE.

If anything _against adoption_ is spoken on alt.adoption, the online
forums, the media, etc... that you'd like to respond to, do it here. Yet,
always be ready for heated reactions, but in this instance...they have
crossed over into advocacy territory and we can shout back at them..."if
you don't like it, then you don't have to read here, just go away, leave!".
:-) (Is that not what anyone who has anything 'positive to say' about
adoption get told on their SO CALLED, "adoption" newsgroup which they
purport to represent?) They do NOT represent adoption, they represent the
END of adoption as we know it, they seek to prevent and to abolish
adoption, while at the same time doing nothing to end, promote policies
that promote tolerance for illegitimacy, unplanned, out-of-wed lock births.
Policies that have led to thousands upon thousands of tragedies and tragic
outcomes for our nation's children.

You may ask, "Why would this newsgroup be necessary?"

If you are interested in, care about or are effected by adoption...what you
should and need to know is that for the first time since the 1930's, the
decade of the 1990's is a decade of adoption reform, in which "sweeping
changes" in public policy in adoption practices and unsealing and opening
confidential adoption records are being proposed and fought over in every
congressional hall where new laws and legislation are introduced all over
the Country. _Adoption_ as we know it_ meaning: To take into one's
family through legal means and raise as one's own child and creating a new
family (legally foresaking all previous family ties) by adoption, is under
attack.

For this, I recommend the advice of William Pierce, President of the
National Council For Adoption, quoted from a recent issue of the National
Adoption Report article, "There is Heat in the Kitchen":

"Public policy is a high-stakes game these days, and the tactics used in
pursuit of winning are often crude. So be prepared if you enter the battle
on the side of positive adoption practices, with facts from research and
experience as your weapons."

Therefore, we must get off our lazy duffs, take the time to LEARN, read,
keep up on current research, all the facts, studies and literature, become
knowledgable, know the facts...become educated and help to educate society
about the truth that adoption is good public policy that brings benefits
for us all! Our work is much easier than theirs, because the facts and
evidence is in our favor, all we have to do is know what the facts are and
spread the word far and wide. *ADOPTION WORKS!*
