"STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION," WITH ITS SPACE-SHATTERING
ACCOMPLISHMENTS. BEAMS UP WITH TWO-HOUR FINALE,
RETROSPECTIVE SPECIAL AND A MARATHON OF FAVORITES

With an international crew who made space seem a little less other-
worldly, missions which enthralled millions, and stories known for
exploring the intricacies of the human condition, the U.S.S. Enterprise
NCC-1701-D embarks on its final voyage. After seven seasons, 16
Emmys and an undeniable imprint on the world of syndication and the
minds of millions, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION warp speeds off the
airwaves on 218 stations the week of Monday, May 23 in a special
two-hour episode.

The final episode, entitled "All Good Things...." will find Captain Jean-
Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) crossing over from his Enterprise of
today into Enterprises of the past and future. The intrepid Q (John de
Lancie), who tried the Enterprise crew for all of the crimes of
humanity in the pilot episode, will cause turbulence once again, and
several surprise guest stars will also join the cast in their last trek.

To ensure a proper send-off, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION's final
episode will be preceded by a five-hour Viewers' Choice Marathon and
a one-hour retrospective.

Beginning May 21, stations will be airing a five-hour Viewers' Choice
Marathon. An assemblage of the all-time five favorite STAR TREK: THE
NEXT GENERATION episodes, the shows will be decided by a poll. On-air
promotional spots during March and April will invite viewers to call in
and name their favorite episode. The results will be tallied and the
marathon's presentation will begin with the fifth most requested
episode.

In addition, beginning May 21, a STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION
retrospective will recap the moments, the battles, the races, the
creatures, the devices and the conflicts that have made the series a
classic, with cast and crew interviews to detail memories and discuss
the show's longevity. Aside from classic clips, the retrospective will
share never-before-seen series footage, give a sneak preview of the
final episode, and peek into the production of the upcoming "Star
Trek: Generations" feature film.

The series, which consistently ranks in the top 10 of all hour-long
dramas on television with ratings that often beat most network fare,
has boasted an eclectic string of guest stars from the worlds of
sports, entertainment, science and pop culture, including James
Worthy, Stephen Hawking, Mick Fleetwood, Ben Vereen, Kelsey
Grammer, Bebe Neuwirth, Jean Simmons and John Tesh as well as
recurring regular, Oscar(R) winner Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan. In
addition to its Emmy recognition, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION has
garnered a Peabody Award, a Hugo Award and was the first non-
network show to receive full-endorsement from Viewers for Quality
Television.

During seven seasons, viewers have regaled in the voyages of the
Enterprise as the crew banded together to complete their mission
with courage, intelligence, diplomacy, thought-provoking style, and
often a sense of humor. Whether matching wits with Q, battling the
Romulans, the Borg or the Cardassians, playing out a holodeck
fantasy, understanding another race's culture, or sustaining another
round of Lwaxana Troi's antics, the Enterprise crew has mesmerized
audiences.

Peering into the starship's lively excursions each week, viewers have
appreciated Captain Jean-Luc Picard's (Patrick Stewart) sturdy
leadership and steady guidance, Commander William Riker's (Jonathan
Frakes) loyalty and bravado, Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge's (LeVar
Burton) ability, though blind, to see what others cannot, Chief Medical
Officer Dr. Beverly Crusher's (Gates McFadden) calm demeanor and
healthy reasoning, Counselor Deanna Troi's (Marina Sirtis) emotional
sense and wise advising, Lt. Commander Data's (Brent Spiner)
exceptional logic as an android though he would rather be more
human, and Lt. Worf's (Michael Dorn) fierce convictions, a result of his
Klingon heritage.

After the final episode, the show -- which announces each week that
"these are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise; its continuing
mission: to explore strange worlds, seek out new life and new
civilizations and to boldly go where no one has gone before" -- adds
another "Star Trek" chapter to television lore.

Rick Berman, Michael Piller and Jeri Taylor are executive producers of
STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. Gene Roddenberry created the series.
5TAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION is produced by Paramount Network
Television and distributed by Paramount Domestic Television.
Paramount Television Group is part of the entertainment operations of
Paramount Communications, Inc., which is a majority-owned
subsidiary of Viacom Inc.

Season One" trading cards from SkyBox. These are complete sets of
over one-hundred premium cards which highlight all 26 episodes of
this classic series' ground-breaking first season, including two nine-
card foil-stamped subsets spotlighting Picard and Data, three toil-
embossed Klingon language cards, and two animated holograms.

Productions featuring eight original missions with your favorite Classic

to remind you again that this merchandise is being supplied to you only in

each station a minimum of twenty of each of the above items. As you can imagine,
the response for merchandise has been overwhelming. Be assured, however, that
prizes will be delivered to you within the next two weeks.

The following is a transcription of a segment of Thursday evenings 10:00 news on
   WGNX Channel 46 Atlanta.
There are no major/plot spoilers, but some of the information may be considered
spoilers. I consider it rumor confirmation/refutation, but you can decide
   for yourselves.
Information in brackets was added in by me, basically what was shown on screen
to eliminate possible confusion/offer more explanation.

Space, the final frontier ...
Newscaster: For the past seven years fans have been able to observe the adventures
of Captain Picard and the crew of the Enterprise as they criss-cross the galaxy
and beyond. Star Trek: The Next Generation wraps up its television journey with
a two-hour finale. It feature familiar old friends [Tasha Yar] and the 24th
century's most notorious enemy [Q]. The last episode includes Captain Picard's
past, present, and a leap 25 years into the future.
Patrick Stewart: 25 years where, of course, there have been all kinds of dramatic
changes to every member of the crew. Some of them you might have anticipated,
   others are full of suprises.
Michael Dorn: The character Worf has changed over the last seven years. He has
basically fallen for, in this last episode we're doing, Deanna Troi.
Jonathan Frakes: In the future, fortunately after 25 years in Starfleet, I'm
promoted to Admiral and I get to make some nasty decisions about my ex-Captain
   Picard.
Captain Picard [in Enterprise shuttlebay, among the crew are Yar, Troi, O'Brien &
Worf, uniforms etc from first season]: You are hereby requested and required
   to take command ...
Patrick Stewart: We actually go back to a point just before the series began. We
see scenes that you might have seen in the pilot had they been written.
Newscaster: The final episode airs here [Atlanta] on Channel 46 Thursday, May 26.
Brent Spiner: I think it's a really good episode. I think it's a great way to end
the series. I think it nicely bookends the entire series with the pilot.
Admiral Riker [future, in Engineering I think]: Riker to bridge, set a course for
   the Devoron System, maximum warp!
Newscaster: We know you'll be there. The final episode airs [in Atlanta] Thursday,
May 26th. It will also set up the launching of a new Star Trek series Voyager,
   which debuts next year.
