Here is the DEC pricing information you requested.  I'm sorry it has 
taken me this long to get back to you.  I had some trouble deciphering 
the DEC pricelist to determine what they consider a "base" machine.  As 
you can see, there are several options:

I have quoted a price for the DECSYSTEM 3100 because you mentioned it in 
your memo to me.  However, this machine is designed to be a server, not 
a personal workstation, and is probably not the right machine for you.

The expansion box can hold up to two of each of the above hard disks.  
The price for two disks of the same size in one expansion box is 
approximately $250 to $300 less than double the price for the single 
disk.

List warranty provides only "return to factory" service (you box up and 
send your computer back to DEC or bring it to their service center in 
Somerville to be repaired, they send it back or you pick it up when it 
is fixed), and is NOT recommended.  Standard warranty provides on-site 
service (DEC comes to your desk and fixes your computer).
