Here's the route I use to Okemo from Shrewsbury, takes me
           less than 2 1/2 hours.

           Rt. 140 North, west on Rt. 2/140 approx. 1 mile, rt. onto
           Rt. 140 north again. Intersects with Rt. 12 in Winchendon.
           Take Rt. 12 to Keene N.H. - follow signs for Rt. 12 - Walpole.
           Cross over the Conn. river at Bellows Falls, Rt. 5 north to
           Rt. 103 (changes as you pass under 91). Follow 103 to Ludlow.

           Watch out for the police - especially from the Mass border to
           Keene.

or:

    From Fitchburg take Rte 2 West to I-91 to Exit 6 I believe and then
    follow Rte 103 to Ludlow. Probably 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

    From Nashua you can either take Rte 101 West all the way to I-91 and
    then up to Exit 6 etc, or you can go up the Everett to I-93 to I-89 to
    exit 9 Rte 103 to Claremont and Vermont where you pick up Rte 131 in
    Vermont and take that to Ludlow.  About 2 1/2 hours traveling the I-93
    I-89 route.  I don't know about Rte 101.
