Ok, here is my current library of Core War warriors. I will describe them just a little bit for you, and give some warnings and advice about them. There are four directories, each with stuff in them. The Internet directory contains all of the warriors that I have pulled from the rec.games.corewar. It goes quite a ways back, so I think you will like it. The Local directory contains some code that my friends here at this University has been writing. The Others directory contains more directories broken further down with the warriors in them. The Recent directory contains more warriors from the newsgroup which I haven't tested or assembled yet... I might get to them later on. In the Others directory, the ICWS-86, ICWS-87-88, ICWS-89, and ICWS-90 each contain the contestants for the Annuak Tournaments. Clean copies of these can be found at the soda ftp site. The Samples directory is nothing much and probably should be removed. :-) The Valentine directory contains all of the contestants thus far that have been entered in the EBS Valentine Tournament still going on by Mark Durham. The only directory that is not included in all this is my personal Contest directory, which contains a lot of code that I have posted and a whole bunch more code that I am working on in my spare time. I won't release any of that until I sort through it and figure out which is the good stuff and which is the junk that probably won't even assemble. Buy I am sure you won't miss much of that stuff. Since the my deluxe package (my old version and currently released version) didn't handle expressions and equates very well, I modified a lot of the code so that it could assemble and run against my stuff. This means that most of it is not truly what was posted or whatever. I will fix all of that when I release my newest version of the Deluxe package, since I believe the warriors should be unchanged and be able to assemble. You can find the ICWS warriors at the soda ftp site. You can also find much of the posted code in the newsgroup directory at the ftp site, if you are willing to wade through the archives. Tools: I used the directory structure above, but I created yet another directory called "All" that contained symbolic links to all of the other directories, allowing me to run the corewar program from the All directory and still keep all of my warriors separated from each other. If you would like this linking program, just let me know. I also have an awk program that will take the newsgroup archives at the soda ftp site and break them into individual article files, for easy access... This requires a little disk space, but it will help get the warriors out of them faster. (I am building up to an automatic warrior extracter...) :-) If you would like this as well, just let me know. I wish you luck! Scott Adkins sadkins@ohiou.edu
