What is a MUD? A MUD is a Multi User Dimension. They were originally used for playing games and such. More important, though, is that MUDs are an excellent interface for communicating over the network. What is (EVIL!)Mud? EVIL is a Mud that I particularly like the details of the interface on. Instructions on usage follow: 1***)To get to EVIL, type: telnet fido.econlab.arizona.edu 4201 If this does not work on your system, send me mail and I may be able to help. It will spew a whole bunch of messages at you. Then type: 2***)If it's your first time: create YourName yourPassword Every time after that: connect YourName yourPassword For example: Mr. Neuner is logging into EVIL and he types the telnet command and then types: create Neuner principal He will now have a 'character' called Neuner, with the password 'principal'. You should not use the same password as on your account at school and you shouldn't even bother making it a very good password. You middle name or something is fine. connect Ann password To find out who is on the mud: who To talk to someone not in the same room: page Matthew=Hello, I'm here To talk to someone in the same room: "Whatever you want to say To do something: :jumps up and down More info: help
