Hello, I am Matthew Gray, a sophomore in undergraduate physics.  I am
interested in doing a UROP for spring term, though I could easily begin
work over IAP.  Ideally, I would like to continue my work into the summer.
For the spring term, I am flexible in regards to whether I do the UROP for
pay or credit.

I very much like the astrophysics work I have done and am interested in 
possibly working on more if such an opportunity is available.  I have been 
exposed to a number of experimental physics research projects (I have worked 
with Professor Hewitt on gravitational lensing, Professor Tonry on some
astrophysical imaging software, as well as working two summers on a kaon decay 
experiment [bnl787] at Brookhaven National Labs), and am interested in 
astrophysics in particular.  I have taken 8.012, 8.022, 8.03, 18.01-4, and
18.700 (like 18.06, with more theory).  I will be taking 8.06, 8.04 and 8.044
in the spring term. I am also a fluent C and fortran programmer. 

If you are interested in having a UROP student, I would definitely be
interested.

If not, do you know of any other persons I might contact, particularly in
astrophysics?
