ram6211: Ramtek 6211 Color Graphics Terminal
.CS
ram6211(ask)
!S RAM6211 # UNIX command
.PP
.AG ask
logical, should device driver ask before clearing
graphic display for a new figure?
Default TRUE.
.SH COMMENTS
The function `ram6211' is the device driver for the Ramtek
6211 color graphics terminal.
The `S RAM6211' utility should be used immediately after logging on;
it provides initial values for the color table.
.PP
Color 0 (the background) is dark blue
and colors 1 through 7 are cyan, green, yellow, black, magenta, red, and white.
.PP
A feature of this terminal is that alphanumeric information
is displayed in an overlay separate from graphical information
(text in titles, axis labels, etc. is considered graphical).
The buttons labelled "view alpha",
"view graph", and "view both"
cause either the alphanumeric information, graphics, or both
to be displayed.
When these buttons are pushed in conjunction with the "control" key,
the corresponding areas are erased.
.PP
If `ask' is TRUE, the message "GO?" appears
whenever a new plot is about to be produced.
This allows further viewing,
making a hard copy, etc., before the screen is erased. When ready for
plotting to proceed, simply hit carriage return.
.PP
When graphic input (`identify', `rdpen') is requested from this
terminal, a "+"-shaped cursor appears
on the screen. The cursor can be positioned by the lightpen
or by the cursor motion keys on the keyboard (cursor motion keys can
be made to move more quickly by holding down the "control" key).
When the cursor is at the desired point,
press the lightpen against the screen, or hit "control" "enter" to enter
the coordinates of the point.
A carriage return will terminate graphic input
without transmitting the point.
.PP
The terminal can change character size and line type.
Character sizes are 1 and 2.
Line types 1 through 6 are
solid, short dash, long dash, dash dot, long dash dot, and dotted.
Characters cannot be rotated on this device.
.PP
A device must be specified before any graphics functions can be used.
