tek46h
tek46v
.PP
.AG width
width of plotted surface in inches.
Default is 8 for `tek46v', 10 for `tek46h', 15 otherwise.
.AG height
height of plotted surface in inches.
Default is 8 for `tek46h', 10 otherwise.
.AG ask
logical, should user be prompted by "GO?" prior to advancing to new frame?
Default TRUE.
.AG color
integer reflecting the degree of color-plotting provided by the device.
0=color changes ignored, 1=prompt user when color changes (to allow manual pen
changes, etc), 2= (default) device has automatic color changing capability
(4662 Option 31).
.AG speed
speed in mm/sec used in drawing long (>2.6 inch) vectors.
Valid speeds are from 6 to 570 (default) mm/sec. Slow speeds cause more
consistent line quality, and may be useful for high-quality work or
for plotting with special pens, paper, or film.
The `speed' argument is only valid if `color=2' was specified, since
speed changing is only available with Option 31.
.PP
These commands identify Tektronix 4662 series plotters. The plotter
may be used with standard 8.5 by 11 inch paper with the long dimension
horizontally (`tek46h') or vertically (`tek46v'), or with 11 by 17
paper (`tek46').
The arguments listed after `tek46' can also be given with `tek46h' or `tek46v'.
.PP
Whenever a new plot is about to be produced, the message "GO?" appears
on the terminal. At this time, new paper may be loaded, pens changed,
etc. When ready for plotting to proceed, simply hit carriage return.
.PP
When graphic input (`identify', `rdpen') is requested, the plotter
will beep and light its "prompt" light. The pen should be positioned
by means of the joystick. When the desired pen position is reached,
depress the "call" button momentarily. Hold the "call" button down
for about 2 seconds (until it beeps once) to terminate the input. The
coordinates of the terminating point are not transmitted.
.PP
Character sizes may be changed to any desired value. Pens can be
changed manually to provide different colors
or automatically if the device has that capability.
If argument `color' is 1, the user is prompted with the message
"Load pen x" when graphical parameter `col' changes to `x'.
The initial pen is assumed to be color 1.
Characters can be
rotated to any orientation. Only solid line style is available.
.PP
At 300 baud, the switch settings on the back of the device should be set to
"0231" (no parity) or "02B1" (even parity).
At 1200 baud, the no parity setting is "0233".
.PP
A device must be specified before any graphics functions can be used.
