The International Student Association of MIT (ISA) is a 600-member organization founded in 1976 where MIT students from all countries, including the US, come together to celebrate and share their cultures. MEMBERSHIP TO ISA

There are two classes of ISA members: Active Members and Associate Members. Active Members are those who sign up within the registration period at the beginning of each academic term. The deadline for Fall 2001 is Midnight October 31, 2001. There is no membership fee or obligation to help in the organization of ISA-related events.
The two differences between Active and Associate Member are:
1. Active members have the right to vote at the annual Executive Committee elections.
2. Active members have the right to run for office at the annual Executive Committee elections.
Associate members do not have these two rights.
