| History of Massachusetts Eta |
|
Originally chartered in 1919 as a chapter of Phi Kappa fraternity, the Mass Eta chapter was incorporated as Phi Kappa Theta on April 29, 1959. At the time of its founding, MIT did not provide many social or extracurricular opportunities to students, much less dining or housing facilities. A group of students established the Eta chapter to create a student community dedicated to brotherhood as a supplement to traditional coursework. At that date, the chapter was located at 312 Beacon Street. | |

In 1943, moved to its current location at 229 Commonwealth Avenue. The chapter continues in the mission established at creation and strives to provide the same opportunities for the future Phi Kaps to come. |
