...UNLESS there's something
else to do.

As a house we are very involved. We won the PKT national prize for the most campus participation. We have members on the varsity track, basketball, swimming, cross-country skiing, and soccer teams. In addition, we field intramural teams for nearly every sport: from champoinship basketball, tennis, football, and bowling teams to a comical D+ hockey team. Brothers are active in ROTC, Dance Troupe, a cappella groups, the MIT symphony, and church bands. Many brothers belong to different religious groups, but there's no pressure to be more or less religious than you want to be.

A big part of Phi Kappa Theta is giving. We take pride in giving to our community, both Boston and MIT, helping those around us while hanging out and bonding with each other. Many of us tutor one-on-one, and as a house we participate in a variety of service events, including City Days, LINKS, Alley Rally, and Project SCORE (really, it's a community service event). In fact, we're looking forward to even more involvement this next year as Dave Von Stroh, our Community Relations Chair, leads the way.

We're rushing the PKT Pledge Class of 2015 early.

Dave Allmon '01 Midland, TX Mech. Eng.

Dave may be an exception to the rule that everything is bigger in Texas, but we like him anyway. In fact, Dave is evidence that sometimes, good things come in small packages. He's so good that we wonder if he'll even use his mechanical engineering skills. You see, last January, he earned his PhD from the MIT charm school and is currently using it to charm his Rhodes Scholar girlfriend. A few of us theorize that he plans on using his charms and trombone skills to win over women and let them take care of him. If you ask him, though, he'll deny it and point to the fact that he worked on Pratt and Whitney engines last summer. We warn you not to trust his charming words.

Jose Gonzalez '01 Roswell, GA Chemistry

Where do you go to find a wet, shaved Beaver? You can come to PKT at the end of the swimming season and find Jose. Like all varsity swimmers, this MIT Beaver shaves it all off to improve his race time. And while you might think that it would affect his sway with the ladies, this smooth talking Colombian never goes very long without a girl. Aside from those two large interests, Jose spends most of his time in the chemistry labs. We just hope he's not doing any illegal favors for his Colombian relatives.
