IF I PLEDGE, WILL IT SUCK?

John helps a special pledge find some happiness.

The New Mexican

So, you may be asking yourself, "What will my life be like if I pledge PKT?" Maybe you're not, but we'll tell you anyway.

Pledge PKT and you will get a free Big Brother.

We incorporate freshman into our house through a program designed to familiarize pledges with the house, MIT, and the Boston area. As part of the pledge program, each member of the pledge class will select a big brother, who helps them adjust to life at the house and MIT. Additionally, pledges are responsible for organizing a party, a pledge trip, and other activities which will enable them to grow closer to each other and to the rest of the house. Our goal is to make our incoming members feel at home in the house, while developing a sense of pride in the fraternity and themselves, ultimately becoming men we are proud to call brothers.

CAN I KEEP MY PERSONALITY?

Joining Phi Kappa Theta doesn't mean you have to relinquish your personality. On the contrary, we pride ourselves on our willingness to share our varying backgrounds and perspectives with each other. We have our share of sports enthusiasts and art enthusiasts, pyrotechnicians and pranksters, socialites and studiers, punks and pagans, hairy people and rap artists, Spam eaters and vegetarians, and many interesting combinations of the above. In other words, at PKT it is easy to just be yourself.

At PKT, we understand if you want to roll in the snow in the back lot or sit in Boston Common and pull up the grass.
