Sisir is a survivor. How do you explain how a curry-loving Hindu took MIT
by storm after growing up surrounded by country bumpkins, the Grand Ole
Opry, and pick-up trucks? Although he wouldn't stand a chance against
those kangaroos in the Australian outback, he easily handled his multiple
commitments; he was an on-campus member of this year's pledge class,
juggled house commitments, attended IFC committee meetings, and captained
our B-league basketball team, all while staying on top of his school
work. When he moves in next year, he'll likely teach others how he
does these things.
What?!?! You say we have a Korean with a lot of pride in his heritage in
this house? While not as outspoken about it as John Suh, Steve takes pride
in everything he does and everything he's associated with. Whether it's his
Korean heritage, the house, or clarinet playing skills, Steve's got an
understated pride about it. And while you would expect to hear about this
pride often considering that he's a co-publicity chair for MIT class of
'04, Steve's shows his pride through his actions, not his words. So come by
this rush and check out some of the things Steve has to be proud about for
yourself, because you're not going to hear him bragging about it. |

Two years ago, John made the ultimate sacrifice. He turned down beautiful
weather and a full-ride scholarship to San Diego Community College for
cold-ass Boston and MIT. He constantly yearns for his home, and we
constantly hear about it. Be it the weather or the women, the Suhman can't
stop talking about how great Cali is. And while he still has to play
basketball indoors, he's recently gotten a girlfriend from California, so
perhaps we'll hear a little less about it. Now we just have to deal with
his life-long dream of building a boat and sailing it to Korea. Not to kill
your dream, John, but you'll probably end up capsizing in the Pacific Ocean
and get stranded on an island somewhere where you'll make best friends with
a volleyball named Wilson.
At any given time, Dave is probably pursuing the web for random facts.
Though you may think he is doing "research," he is more likely
reading an article on the web about the increased fertility effects of
rodent hairs on orangutans. You might wonder why he cares about
impregnating monkeys (we wonder too), but you can't deny the fact that he
knows a lot about things nobody cares about. Dave took this past year off
and has been spreading his seeds of knowledge in LA, interning at a radio
station. We await his return in the fall, and maybe then we will have the
answer to the question that has eluded him so long: "Why is it skate
or die?"
While the Eazy life sounds good when you first hear it, it just isn't all it's cracked up to be. You see, Eric, aka Eazy-E, is on his way to becoming a doctor. He has a steady girlfriend who is willing to cook, clean and do his laundry. And he is a part of an awesome fraternity at MIT, even getting a little brother his sophomore year. Now for the down side. Eric's life revolves largely around his pre-med work involving many labs and unending anal meticulousness. His girlfriend is from California, so he only sees her when he goes home or when she flies out to Boston. And while the house is great, he's at MIT, so he doesn't get to spend as much time with the brothers as he could. Just remember that the next time you wish you were leading the Eazy life. |
